Pankaj Poddar appointed AVP- HR , Aditya Birla Group , Ultratech, DCW

 

Poddar was earlier AGM, human resources and industrial relations at AVI-Oil for over a decade. Aditya Birla Group has appointed Pankaj Poddar as AVP-HR for the Ultratech cement plant, at Dalla, in Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh. Poddar moves from AVI-Oil India, where he was assistant general manager-HR & IR (plant HR head), for more than 10 years. Before joining AVI-Oil, which is a joint venture of Indian Oil, Balmer Lawrie & Co. and NYCO, France, Poddar was senior manager, Reliance Infrastructure for almost two and a half years, from September 2008, to December 2010. Poddar, who is a physics graduate from the Oriental College of Commerce, holds a postgraduate degree in PMIR, IR and HR from LNMI, Patna.

HR-tech company, HappyPlus Consulting, appoints two senior execs

 

 

Vimal Kumar has been taken on as director, strategic communication and brand, while Subramaniam Krishnan (Subbu) has been hired as head – business development and marketing. HR-tech consulting firm, HappyPlus Consulting, has appointed Vimal Kumar as director, strategic communication and brand, and Subramaniam Krishnan (Subbu) as head – business development and marketing. Vimal Kumar, was earlier the sports editor at Network 18 Group. In fact, he has been with the Group for the last one and a half decade. At the beginning of 2020, Kumar left his position as sports editor to pursue his passion of motivating youngsters through sports stories and examples. Wanting to be associated with the two key words, happiness and positivity, he had co-founded the inspirational talk show/event startup http://seetalks.in/. Kumar also delivers sessions on branding/advertising/management/leadership lessons from sports, at prestigious institutions, such as IIM-Indore and CII. He has regularly written columns, articles and features for reputed media platforms, including Mint, moneycontrol.com and Mid-Day.

Kaustubh Sonalkar joins Welspun Group as group director – HR

Sonalkar has moved from Essar, where he was president - HR, Essar Group and CEO - Essar Foundation. Kaustubh Sonalkar, who was president – HR, Essar Group and CEO –  Essar Foundation, has joined the Welspun Group as the group director – HR, general affairs, CSR and corporate communications. Sonalkar started his career with the Essar Group in 2002 and after a decade, he moved to the Future Group and subsequently to PwC, working in India and the UK. He returned to the Essar Group in 2018 as the president- HR, Essar Group and the CEO, Essar Foundation. A business leader with an artist’s mind, Sonalkar, a disruptive thought designer, believes in the philosophy of ‘going beyond and above’. An out-of-the-box thinker, he has been a culture reformer batting for India, both literally and figuratively. He has also composed music for Bollywood, judged the Miss India contest and authored a bestseller.
