Prof. (Mrs.) Merlyn Michael D'souza's class on 'Handling the appraisal interview-Roleplay'

'Handling the appraisal interview- A Roleplay'

The Situation:
Sanika as Ms. M. Holden is a data entry operator at Coversure Insurance. Coversure is a large national insurance organization specializing in the motor, marine and household insurance markets. There are 250 staff at the head office, many of whom are part-time. Five of the 14 staff who work on the hi-tech equipment are full-time, including the supervisor, Jenny. Jenny is 19 years old and only recently appointed to the supervisor’s role.

Appraisee:
Sanika as Ms. M. Holden sees this appraisal as the ideal opportunity to put the case for more responsibility and to start to have things run the way they should be.

Appraiser:
Bhargavi, as her boss, is very pleased with the quality of M. Holden’s work on a routine level, but she sees Sanika as causing a lot of aggravation by her assumption that she knows best and that she has the right to tell others what to do. The appraiser Bhargavi feels that Sanika's attitude is in no small way responsible for the high turnover that is being experienced in the section.  Bhargavi is determined to get to the bottom of the problem and to get Sanika to agree to a change of behaviour towards her supervisor and her workmates.

Let us follow the video to see the results.
