Kamal Karanth, MD-Kelly Services, calls it quits
Karanth plans to roll out his own venture in the talent space.
Marking a key exit from the
staffing firm, Kelly Services, that set shop in India in 2001, its managing
director, Kamal Karanth has decided to leave the firm. He is currently serving
his notice.
Karanth, plans to take a two-month break, post which he will roll
out his own venture in the talent space. His plans to create something of his
own were simmering for the past few months and that is why he decided to leave
Kelly and focus on that full time.
Sharing his trigger, Karanth says, “I was brought in to turnaround
Kelly in India. So, having accomplished that and also having done an
international stint managing Kelly Malaysia, I feel fulfilled. That was the
trigger — I felt that entrepreneurship was a good way to look at the next level
in life.” Karanth shared that his new talent venture should be out and rolling
by January 2017.

Cyrus Mistry removed as Tata Chairman
The Board
members at Tata Son today passed a decision that shifts the mantle of
leadership back to Ratan Tata, albeit for an interim period.
In a surprising move, Tata Sons on Monday
decided to announce a significant change in its top leadership. The Board of
Tata Sons has replaced Cyrus P Mistry as Chairman of Tata Sons at a meeting
held in Mumbai reported Economic Times. “Tata Sons today announced its board
has replaced Cyrus P Mistry as Chairman of Tata Sons. The decision was taken at
a board meeting held here today,” a Tata Sons statement said.
“The board has currently named Ratan Tata as interim chairman of
the conglomerate. It has also constituted a selection committee to choose a
replacement within four months reported The Hindu on the matter,” added the
Tata Son’s statement. The selection committee comprises Ratan Tata, Venu
Srinivasan, Amit Chandra, Ronen Sen and Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya.
Mistry, 48, was the sixth group chairman. In addition to being
group chairman, Mistry is also the chairman of leading Tata group companies,
including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Jaguar Land Rover Automotive, Tata
Consultancy Services, Tata Power Company, The Indian Hotels Company, Tata
Global Beverages, Tata Chemicals, Tata Industries and Tata Teleservices.

Arnab Goswami resigns as editor-in-chief of Times Now
Leading journalist and the editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami resigns from
Times Now
Though, there is no
official confirmation from The Times Group yet but as per the media reports,
Goswami announced his resignation at an editorial meeting last week. Also, it
is anticipated that he might start his own venture soon.
The social media websites
such as Twitter were abuzz with messages and posts, soon after the news of his
resignation came out. Certain social media platforms even pronounced that
Goswami’s last Newshour debate will be televised at 9pm on November 1. This was
one of the most trending topics on social media from last few days.
Since
the launch of the news channel, Times Now in 2006, Goswami has steadfastly
taken up leadership of the group. He has
been hosting several news shows, ever since, including the popular news-
debate, ‘The Newshour’ and his interview-based show ‘Frankly Speaking with
Arnab’, which is the most followed news show on television.
