Girish Naik joins Cipla Biotec as head-HR
Naik was earlier the vice president-HR & head-organisational
effectiveness at Reliance.
Cipla seems to be building a strong talent
pipeline in human resources and has added another experienced leader in its
cadre. Girish Naik, who was the vice president-HR & head-organisational
effectiveness at Reliance, recently joined Cipla BioTec as the head of HR.
Naik will be leading the entire gamut of HR
functions at the Goa headquartered Cipla BioTec. An engineering graduate from
the University of Pune, Naik completed his business education from the Asian
Institute of Management and has an experience of over 18 years.
Before joining Reliance in 2014, Naik was the
chief human resources officer at Network18 and has also worked with Tata Motors
prior to that.
Naik brings with him hands-on experience in
design and implementation – in HR systems & processes, performance
management, talent management, compensation & rewards, organisation design,
job evaluation, work level design, competency framework design, career path
design, business performance improvement, balanced scorecard and change
management.
2.Capgemini India ropes in
IBM’s Anil Jalali as CHRO
Jalali’s predecessor, BL Narayan, has moved on as head of
solutions & sales support for the company’s Business Services strategic
business unit.
Anil Jalali, erstwhile executive director-HR,
IBM India, has moved to Capgemini as head-HR for India operations. Jalali, who
will be named chief human resource officer, Capgemini India, quit IBM in
November, 2016. At IBM, he was heading HR for India and South Asia operations.
Jalali’s predecessor, BL Narayan, has moved on
to a business role — as head of solutions & sales support — for Capgemini’s
Business Services strategic business unit.
Capgemini employs more than 180,000
professionals across 40 countries, of which, 100,000 people are based out of
India.
Srinivas Kandula, head of Capgemini India, says,
“With the successful acquisition and integration of IGATE, India is pivotal to
the Group’s transformation plans. Strategic talent management will play a
crucial role in building organisational agility going forward.”
Even Kandula was EV-P, and chief people officer
at IGate, a company acquired by Capgemini before taking on the role of CEO at
Capgemini India.

Tata’s group CHRO appointed as chairman, Tata Power
S Padmanabhan had replaced NS Rajan in November 2016.
S Padmanabhan, group CHRO, Tata Group, has
been appointed as the chairman of Tata Power, in place of Cyrus Mistry, who
resigned last month. In November 2016, he was appointed as Tata group’s
CHRO following the exit of NS Rajan.
Tata Power brought back Padmanabhan in
December, as an additional director on the board. Padmanabhan was the executive
director of operations at the company until 2014.
Padmanabhan has been with the Tata Group for
34 years, out of which 26 were with Tata Consultancy Services.
In a press statement earlier, the company had
said during his stint with Tata Power between 2008 and 2014, he was
‘responsible for the profitable and sustainable operations of all thermal and
hydro generation plants across India and transmission and distribution systems
in Mumbai.’
Tata Power had called for an extra ordinary
general meeting of shareholders to discuss the removal of Mistry as the chairman
on December 26, but he rendered his resignation before that on December 19.
