Roshni Wadhwa appointed as HR Director, India; Mohit James takes up global role

L’Oréal India has appointed Roshni Wadhwa, previously Human Resources Director for L’Oréal Singapore, in place of James. 

After a six year stint as the HR Director for L’Oréal India, as Mohit James moves up into a global role as South Asia HR Director for L’Oréal and APAC HRD for L’Oréal’s Professional Products & Active Cosmetics Divisions, the company has appointed Roshni Wadhwa, previously Human Resources Director for L’Oréal Singapore, in place of James.
India has been a key source of talent for L’Oréal as James also joins an important position for L’Oréal globally, coming from the Indian talent pool. James has over 23 years of HR experience across Consumer, Manufacturing and IT organisations. Under his leadership at L’Oréal India, the function evolved significantly with many initiatives including the Management Trainee program, Employer Branding, Rewards Competitiveness, Gender Diversity Inclusion and Recognition programs.
On the other hand, Wadhwa brings in 19 years of experience and her prior work experience includes business HR partnering and organisational development in companies such as Novartis and Pantaloon Retail. She joined L’Oréal India in July 2013 as General Manager – HR for Consumer Products Division (CPD) where she played an instrumental role in building a strong and talented marketing and commercial team in a highly complex and competitive environment.

Religare appoints Maninder Singh as Group CEO

Maninder was the Chief Business Officer at REL and the company Board decided to elevate him as the Group CEO.
Religare Enterprises Limited (REL), a diversified financial services group, has appointed Maninder Singh as Group Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. Maninder was the Chief Business Officer at REL. 
Nalin Nayyar will be stepping down from his current position as the interim Group CEO. However, he continues in his role as Group President – Strategic Initiatives and as such will continue to oversee all strategic initiatives across the group in partnership with operating management.
Maninder Singh, comes on board with a rich experience of almost three decades in the corporate sector.  He was previously associated with Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited for 27 years where he rose to eventually become the Global Financial Controller. During his tenure with Ranbaxy, he handled several critical global roles and successfully managed Treasury, Insurance & Risk Management, Business & Trade Finance, Indirect Taxes, Payroll & Trust services, Financial & Management Accounting, Merger & Acquisitions and Investor Relations functions. .

Babita Baruah moves to WPP's Global Blue Team as Managing Partner

Varun Channa has been appointed in Baruah's place as senior vice president & managing partner, PO1.
Babita Baruah, a veteran of ad agency JWT has been roped in to lead WPP’s Global Blue Team, a dedicated unit for Ford business, as Managing Partner. She was the Senior Vice President and Managing Partner, PO1, an independent business unit for PepsiCo in JWT.
JWT had announced senior management changes in recent months, right after its Head Sanjeev Bhargava’s resignation. Babita got independent charge of JWT’s business unit – Power of One (PO1) – that handles a large number of PepsiCo’s flagship brands. Babita worked with JWT, a WPP-owned agency for 20 years and has worked in their Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata offices. 
Babita Baruah confirmed to People Matters about her new move, however, we are awaiting response from her about the responsibilities of what the role constitutes. 
An MBA from Gauhati University, she has worked on brands from Unilever, Godrej, Kotak, Aditya Birla Capital, Kingfisher Airlines, Diageo, Kelloggs, Wills, Bata, Emami, World Gold Council, De Beers, Nestle and Nokia.
