Samsung’s Digital Academy to upskill budding engineers
Samsung Digital Academy has been launched to impart skills in new technologies to students of engineering colleges in Telangana.
In a bid to nurture technical experts and create a pool of ready talent, Samsung has launched a digital academy as part of its ongoing skilling partnership with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), under the state government. The academy offers a course curriculum meticulously conceptualised such that it can be easily comprehended by a beginner in application development. Under the programme, the youth will be trained in the Tizen OS platform including application development process, testing and debugging, device application program interface (APIs) as well as packaging and installation of designed applications on various devices.

Talking about the programme during the launch of the academy, Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, information technology, electronic and industries, Telangana stressed the need for youth to be skilled in new technologies. He mentioned that it will help them in seeking more avenues in the current dynamic IT world. Furthermore, he said a course on Tizen operating system is one such opportunity.

Currently, Accenture has 150,000 women, which is nearly 40 percent of its global workforce.
As organisations across the globe make significant investments in correcting their gender diversity numbers, one organisation has decided to balance it in its true sense. Accenture recently declared that it will achieve a gender-balanced workforce, with 50 percent women and 50 percent men, by 2025.
Although it may sound utopian at a time when organisations are struggling to find the right women talent to fit leadership roles, Accenture has already achieved a 40 percent score in having women at the workplace. Currently, Accenture has 150,000 women, which is nearly 40 percent of its global workforce.
Talking of why it is important to have more women in the workplace, Pierre Nanterme, chairman and CEO, Accenture, says, “Diversity makes our business stronger and more innovative and, most important, it makes the world a better place. With this new goal, we are sending an important message to our people and our clients confirming our commitment to a gender-balanced workforce.”

What’s in Saint-Gobain’s new futuristic employer brand
With its new, strong and engaging tagline, ‘Invent yourself. Reshape the world’, Saint-Gobain is looking to promote its unique and open spirit.
For the global launch of its new employer brand, Saint-Gobain also held an entirely online series of international open house days called Saint-Gobain Live Journey. For five days, from June 12 to 16, students, recent graduates and potential applicants could meet Saint-Gobain teams on live Facebook sessions in China, the United States, Brazil, India and Europe. New content, ranging from videos to employee interviews, were also posted every three hours on the company website.

In line with its recently unveiled new positioning, French company Saint-Gobain has launched its new and futuristic employer brand. The new brand is the result of a unique collaborative effort between the teams in Saint-Gobain’s target countries and its communications agency, 4ventsgroup. The new employer brand stands on four pillars, which are as follows:
