Comments :
Dr. Jennifer Pinto and Dr. Aastha Lambah are currently engaged as Spine Physiotherapists of Qi Spine Clinic, Andheri. They conducted a Health Workshop for IESMCRC faculty, staff and students under the banner of HR Club – HR Matrix. Prof. Ulhas Karkhanis, Associate Dean- Pharma Management, felicitated them with a memento. Dr. Jennifer Pinto introduced the session by offering a 50% discount coupon to all faculty, staff and students of IESMCRC for a free consultation with their clinic Qi Spine at Andheri. She began her presentation by asking the audience what they thought about the seriousness of back and spine pains with their causes. She explained the physiological structure of the spine with its nerve fibres, bone and disc jelly. She handed out a rubber band to all the participants and asked them to stretch it as much as they could to demonstrate how the jelly type disc of the spine works. She showed a model of the spine anatomy and distribute graphic representations of how pressure builds on the spinal chord. She ended with a couple of exercises to release back pain and the faculty, staff and students were greatly benefited. She shared her visiting card and urged all to take an appointment at the earliest. The faculty, staff and students remarked that more workshops of this type were required to help ease the mundane pains of work-life. On the whole the session was welcomed and participated well in good numbers by all.
