Behera to take charge as CHRO, Titan, in July
Behera moves from Boston
Scientific, where he is senior director – HR. Swadesh Behera, who has been
working with Boston Scientific since 2010, will take charge as CHRO, Titan with
effect from July 2021. He will step into the shoes of R. Rajnarayan, who is set
to superannuate on June 30. A postgraduate in human resources from the Tata
Institute of Social Sciences(TISS), Behera began his career with Coca Cola as
general manager – HR, India, in December 1998. After six years, he moved to
Ranbaxy Laboratories as director – HR, India region, in 2005. A two-year stint
later, he moved to MSD Pharmaceuticals (MERCK & Co.), as director – human
resources, based out of Gurgaon. It was in 2010 that he entered Boston
Scientific as director – HR. A little over three years later, he was promoted
to the role of regional director – HR, India, Middle East and Africa. About 11
months into this position, he took on the role of director – talent management,
Europe. He held this post for more than a year and a half, before moving on to
become the regional director – HR, India hub in 2016. Almost two and a half
years later, he was promoted to senior director – HR, One BSC India
(Commercial, R&D, GBS and IT). He has been successfully essaying this role
for more than two and a half years now. Having completed a course in HR
strategy from Cornell University Executive Education, Behera has diverse
sectoral experience in MNCs and Indian organisations from the pharmaceuticals
,FMCG and manufacturing sectors.

Gaurav
Pokhariyal to take over from PV Murthy at Indian Hotels
PV Ramana Murthy, executive vice president and global head – human
resources, Indian Hotels, has retired and Gaurav Pokhariyal has been named the
senior vice president and global head – human resources. Until now, Pokhariyal
was senior vice president – operations. Murthy has a degree in law, a PhD in
strategic human resource management, and an executive master’s degree in change
management from INSEAD. He spent close to seven years at Indian Hotels, and
prior to that he was with The Coca-Cola Company in various capacities for a
period of 15 years. After completing a postgraduate diploma in personnel
management from the National Institute of Personnel Management in 1985, Murthy
started his career with Ferro Alloys as management trainer, and was later
promoted to deputy manager – HR. In the eight years that he spent with the
Company, he worked in several roles, including personnel, employee relations,
administration and legal functions.
