Shobha Tanniru is CHRO, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail

Tanniru was chief operations officer and head HR & training at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, where she has been since 2014. Shobha Ratna Tanniru has been appointed as the chief human resources officer and senior executive, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, effective December 2023. Her association with the Aditya Birla Group began in 2008, when she joined as group head – leadership development and learning. For six years, she conceptualised and engaged with businesses to implement talent-management processes for the Group, before moving to Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance in 2014, as head HR and training of the 10,000-strong workforce of the company, spread across 400 branches. Six years into this role, she was elevated to the position of chief operations officer and head-HR and training.

Shweta Shukla appointed CPO, Lenskart

Shukla is backed by 20 years of human-resource experience in various industries, including Facebook, Netflix and GenpactShweta Shukla is the new chief people officer (CPO), Lenskart. Based out of Singapore, she will be a key member of the leadership board, overseeing the global HR function. Her main responsibilities will include driving worldwide growth, enhancing organisational effectiveness and nurturing culture and leadership. As the new CPO, Shukla will directly report to Peyush Bansal, founder and CEO, Lenskart. Bansal had temporarily taken on the role after the former chief human resources officer, Suruchi Maitra, left in 2021. Shukla, with over two decades of experience in people, talent and culture leadership, joins Lenskart during a pivotal period marked by significant leadership changes earlier this year. Shukla’s career journey began in 2001 as an executive recruitment manager at HSBC. She later worked as an assistant vice president – HR, Genpact, for two years before joining Hewitt as a consulting project manager in 2007.

Pratik Soyantar is the new CHRO, Light

Soyantar moves from SMEcorner where he was head – HR for over two years. Light, an Indian finance firm with its headquarters in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has roped in Pratik Soyantar to take on the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO). Earlier, Soyantar was serving as head – human resources, SMEcorner. He worked out of Mumbai and was actively involved in HR policy formulation, investor relations support , training and development and niche talent acquisition. A commerce graduate from Gujarat University, armed with an MBA from Sikkim Manipal University, Soyantar’s first assignment was with CMS Computers, as a human resources executive in 2005. After two years, he switched to Eureka Forbes as senior executive human resources for two years. In 2009, he moved on to Videocon Industries as deputy manager – HR. The year 2010 saw him moving to Mumbai area as human resources manager, HDFC Bank. Four years into this role, he switched to YES BANK as senior HCM business partner. From 2014 to 2020, Soyantar managed the end to end HR function for various businesses of the bank including retail assets, risk management, service excellence, working capital and cards. His next stop was Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he joined as national head – talent acquisition, based out of Mumbai. For over a year, he managed leadership hiring, onboarding, budget management, team management, niche talent acquisition and so on for the bank. An ambitious professional, Soyantar is known for his willingness to take initiative and an undying desire to learn. His people analytics skill will certainly prove to be an asset in his new assignment at Light.
